BT outage blocks web pages!

If you are a Brick technology web design customer then you may have had some difficulty this morning accessing certain web pages. If this is you then unfortunately this is not something we can resolve right now.

The problem lies with BT where an outage was acknowledged by the ISP just before 1pm with a message on their site saying it would take around 2 hours to fix.

BT said on its business broadband status page:

"We are investigating an issue at the moment that is preventing some customers from accessing web pages, we are working hard to fix the problem and we will update this message when more information is available. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Sites such as LogMeIn couldn’t be accessed and even social networking site Twitter appeared to be having problems. Apparently the problems were caused by ISPs but the service seems to have been mostly restored.

Others have suggested that the problems are due to routing or even a DNS problem but Be Broadband has reported stating that they have a DNS issue which is affecting its network.

BT will keep customers informed should anything else occur. Brick technology has since found out that BT are aware of this issue and it has now all been resolved.  We are aware of a broadband issue affecting some customers in the North East of the UK affecting dialling codes 0191, 01670, 01429, 01833 AND 0174882.

For more information then please view the BT Business Broadband Status Page. If you are having other website issues then please go through support which can be found in your control centre.

If you cannot get into your control centre please call us on 01254 277190 or email hayley.pearson@brickweb.co.uk and we will launch the ticket on your behalf.
